Raising funds for multiple Sclerosis

Hair shave

Saturday 3rd May.

The hair raising / money raising event took place at the Victoria, Barnt Green.

It all started with Martins friends starting to call him Laurence Llewelyn Bowen because of how long his hair was. Have it shaved off for our charity I said. I won`t repeat what he said but it was a definate no. He could not get it done over Easter because the shops were shut. He came down a couple of weeks later to ask Claire to do it again but she was going away that weekend. Have it done for our charity I said again...more swearing and a NO. Unfortunately for Martin he mentioned in the pub that night my suggestion and before he knew it they were all sponsoring him £10`s to have it shaved off. So reluctantly at first he agreed to have it done, but saying that, Martin has got stuck into getting as many sponsors as he could and has raised an unbeliveable £660 all by himself, when it`s all collected.

Thanks to Dave and his staff for their support and allowing us to use the Vic, Nick from `Cloud Nine` for doing a excellent job of DJing for the night, everyone who donated a raffle/auction prize, Paul for his help in getting more sponsorship on the night and from his King Norton butchers shop customers , and not forgeting everyone who came along and gave so generously on the night.

And not forgetting a massive big thanks to Martin for being a great sport, don`t worry it`ll grow back.................eventually

We`ve called it a day now, not all the money that was promised is collected but we cannot keep chasing or waiting for people. A big thank you to everyone who has contributed. The grand total for the hairshave was a fantastic £1,764.36
